Humanitarian demining and providing security services in conflict areas?

Humanitarian demining and providing security services in conflict areas?

"Conflict" areas have become part of the international scene across the globe – be it as a result of political, ideological or religious strife or aspirations; or because of criminals after big money – regardless of whether it requires gross acts of violence or even murder. For these reasons the private military industry, or private security as we know it has become one of the biggest employers in the world.

Multinationals who own airlines, shipping lines, oil pipelines and mines and operate all over the globe have to deal on a daily basis with security problems ranging from armed attacks, minefields and unexploded ordinance; while they are also soft targets for terrorist attacks (think Lockerbie, Somali pirates, Niger Delta and Sudan).
